Kia ora koutou NORTHERN KĀPITI KĀHUI AKO CONFERENCE 2024 I want to start by celebrating a fabulous day of learning, connection and reflection that took place on Friday 31 May, with our very first Northern Kāpiti Kāhui Āko conference. This brought together over 400 teaching and support staff from all schools in our Kāhui Āko, together with the Ministry of Education, RTLB service and Mana Mokopuna. Thank you to Aaron Mead and Helen Benson, our joint KA leads, for all their hard work and planning into making this such a fabulous day, and I extend these thanks to the Across School Lead Teachers and all our presenters who have also contributed. I was privileged to be able to say a few words as we welcomed everyone to Paraparaumu College this morning and it struck me as I looked at our 400+ attendees that we are incredibly lucky to have such talented and dedicated teachers and support staff in our schools. A key purpose of the Kāhui Āko model is to promote the sharing of best practice and professional growth amongst our member schools and I know our inaugural conference has provided opportunities to do just that. Congratulations once again to all involved! |

As we reach the halfway point of Term 2 I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents, caregivers and students for continuing to welcome me so warmly to Paraparaumu College. I have now had the opportunity to speak in all 4 house assemblies so after 5 weeks I feel as though I am really tuning into the heartbeat of the school. It is always good to connect and chat whether at school, on the sports fields or out and about in the community and I look forward to continuing to get to know more of you as we move deeper into Term 2. In the meantime, all the very best for the long weekend and safe travels to all those who are heading elsewhere for a few days. Coffee Hutt Open Saturday Our Coffee Hutt will be open again tomorrow for Saturday sport opening at 9.30am. We are serving barista made coffees and hot chocolates. Look out for the Coffee Hutt flag and come along to say hi. EFTpos available. Property Assistant Vacancy We are currently seeking a Property Assistant to join our Property team on a permanent basis. Major Production - Grease! - Wednesday 19 - Saturday 22 June, Southwards Theatre Our school production of Grease is in its final weeks of preparation and the excitement is growing! Students and staff have been working hard to produce a fantastic performance, with opening night on Wednesday 19th June fast approaching.
