Kia ora koutou

Today has been the second and last day of our electives for our Year 9 and 10 students.  It has been great to get out and about to see the wonderful array of opportunities that have been made available to our students. These have included:

Tramps, printmaking, haka, crochet and knitting, giving back to the community, canoeing and jet boating, escarpment walk, 48 hour filmmaking competition, Taskmaster, mountain biking, mindful colouring and puzzles and lawn bowls to name a few.

Photos of the activities will be shared to our school Facebook page and I have included a selection below.

PC! You’ve Got Talent! - Tonight!

Tonight is our 36th annual Year 9 Talent Quest.  This commences at 6:30pm in the College Auditorium. There will be refreshments for sale and tickets are available at the door on the night and are only $5!  Eftpos available. Come and see our wonderfully talented Year 9 students. A night of great entertainment!

Junior Prize-givings - Wednesday 11 December - Last day of school for 2024

Junior prize-givings take place on the last day of the school year in the College Community Gym:

  • Year 10 - 9:30am
  • Year 9 - 1:00pm

Information has been sent to students and their families this week advising recipients of any awards they are receiving. At the conclusion of prize-givings, students will be free to leave and begin their summer break.  It is envisaged that each prize-giving will be about an hour and a half to two hours in duration.

Lost Property

Lost property will be put out between Te Manawa & B Block on Monday 9 December. Please make sure to check for any items you may have misplaced, as this will be the last opportunity before the end of 2024. Any unclaimed items will be donated.

Lockers

As we approach the end of the school year, please be sure to clean out your lockers by Tuesday 10 December. This is important for ensuring that all personal items are removed and that lockers are left in good condition for next year.

Please remember to:

  • Take home any textbooks, notebooks, and personal items.
  • Remove any trash or leftover belongings.
  • Return any borrowed school property (e.g., gym clothes, library books, etc.).

Chromebooks, Chargers and Library Books

Now that the school year is nearly over we really need all Chromebooks and chargers returned asap.  We still have many, many devices and chargers outstanding.  We need these back by Monday 9 December so that they can be checked for electrical compliance. If they are not returned by then, we may not have sufficient devices available to support the students who need them next year.  We also need all overdue library books returned. Thanks for your help with this.

College Office Hours for the remainder of the Term

The College Office will be closed all day on Thursday 12 December for our staff end of year function.  It will be open again on Friday 13 December and the last day for the College Office will be Wednesday 18 December, closing at 3:00pm.

2025 Commencement of School - Key dates

The College Office will be open from Wednesday 22 January.

COMMUNITY NOTICES

New Zealand Traveller Declaration

Going overseas this summer? Everyone travelling into, or returning to, New Zealand must complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration.

The New Zealand Traveller Declaration collects travel, customs, immigration and biosecurity information and aims to improve the safety and security of New Zealand. It replaces the paper card you used to fill out on the plane.

To make your arrival easier, do your digital declaration before your flight to New Zealand. It’s free to complete.

If you’re travelling as a family or group and completing multiple declarations, the NZTD app allows you to copy your travel details into another declaration, making it easier to complete multiple declarations for the same journey. The submitted declarations are then all easy to see within the app.
