Kia ora koutou

We are excited to share an update on our 51 new international students who have recently joined us here at Paraparaumu College. They have had a busy and enriching start to their journey with us, and we wanted to keep you informed about their experiences so far.

Orientation: Our new students have completed their orientation, where they were introduced to the College facilities, what the College has to offer and support systems available. They have received valuable information to help them adjust to life in New Zealand and feel comfortable in their new academic, homestay and social environment.

Wellington Trip: The students had the opportunity to explore Wellington, the vibrant capital city. They caught the bus and train and this trip provided them with the skills on how easy it is to travel around while also offering them a fun and exciting outing.  Made even better with an ice-cream!

Host Family Dinner: Our students were welcomed with their host families' for a dinner at the College at the beginning of February, giving them a chance to experience Kiwi hospitality and strengthen their bonds with their new families and the opportunity to meet other host families.

Camp at El Rancho: The students stayed at El Rancho in Waikanae, a chance to connect with one another in a relaxed, retreat setting. The camp helped build friendships and foster team spirit.  They participated in many exciting activities, with the river adventure and campfire being the highlights.

Settling into School Work: Now that they have settled into their accommodation and activities, the students are beginning to focus on their studies. They are adjusting well to their academic schedules and are eager to dive into their learning.

We are thrilled to see how well they’ve integrated into the Paraparaumu College community, and we believe they will continue to thrive in the months ahead.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further information. We appreciate your support in making this experience as positive as possible for our international students!
