We currently have a position available in our Supported Learning teacher aide team for a reliever to assist during times of increased need. This is a term-time only position, as and when required, and is available immediately until the end of the school year on 12 December 2024. The position may be extended into 2025.
The supported learning role works with students aged from 13 to 21 years old who require additional support to access Paraparaumu College programmes. Supported learning students have a variety of needs – intellectual, emotional, social and physical that require ongoing support. You will work with students on structured programmes, maybe making some minor adaptations and creating activities. You will support students with specific health, behavioural and/or other needs and support students in reo and tikanga in our educational setting.
The roles fall within Grades B-C of the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement. Further information about these positions can be found in the Teacher Aide Work Matrix Table in section 3A.3 of the Collective Agreement.
We would love to hear from you if you have skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience. The preferred candidates will be required to complete a police vetting check and must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
