There is a long history of Kapa Haka at Paraparaumu College and in 2023 the group established a new name - Ngā Tai Tūātea. The name reflects the ebb and flow of the tides which in turn signifies the tauira and whānau who come and go and often return to Paraparaumu College. Ngā Tai Tūātea has a strong student focus and inspires leadership. Tauira are encouraged to drive the direction of the group which is how the group’s new name came about. Ngā Tai Tūātea will begin their campaign for the 2025 Kapa Haka Regionals and will have regular weekly practices along with one noho per term.
