TOI WEARABLE ARTS
Toi is an event where students design, create, and model wearable art garments either on their own or in a small team.  We attend the regional event with other schools from the area where the garments are modelled, photographed and judged.

Toi Showquest is a highlight in our year.  Our students have had a fantastic run of success including national awards, and our students’ garments being selected as national Toi models.

2025 Success!

In 2025 we had 2 National Finalists!

Xiah was then awarded first place Nationally for her garment called 'Te Aranga o te Reo Māori '

Plans for 2026

The Toi event is run slightly differet this year, students need to make a submission to the Toi selection panel first in the hopes their garment will be chosen to attend the Toi event day in June.

Due to this change, in July 2026 we will also be having our own school show for all of our Wearable Arts Students - this gives them all a chance to model their garments and talk about their designs on the stage. Date for this is 30 July 2026 at the Southwards Theatre. Other schools from the Wellington Region will also be displaying garments in this show.
